People ReportTM Competitive Data Represents One in Five Foodservice Employees in Chain Restaurants

Dallas – March 11, 2004 –People ReportTM today announced that during the first quarter of 2004, the workforce competitive data collected will represent one in five foodservice employees in chain restaurants with more than 10 units. People Report’s membership is made up of more than 80 chain restaurant concepts.

“Our members are getting the best competitive workforce data provided in the foodservice industry. By representing 20% of the chain workforce, our members can truly understand where they rank within the marketplace. Armed with this information, chain operators can make the right decisions as they set, measure and achieve their people initiatives,” stated Joni Thomas Doolin, chief executive officer and founder of People Report.

A very important sector within the multiunit foodservice industry is formed by chains that have 10 or more units.  These companies employ about 36% of the total number of employees and generate almost $1 in sales for each $2.50 generated by the industry.  Within this group is a very strong representation of People Report members.  Of the concepts tracked by People Report during fourth quarter 2003, 96% were companies with 10 or more units.  The number of people employed by People Report member companies has surpassed the 500,000 mark a significant threshold in this important industry sector. .
